Our Story

Why we do what we do:

  • There is an overarching gender disparity in the healthcare field. For years, medical trials were based on the ‘average person’, a 5’9 white male. It wasn’t until 1986, that the NIH established a policy that encouraged researchers to include women in studies. Even more terrifying, it wasn’t until the early 1990s that women were mandated to be included in medical studies. As a result, women have been underdiagnosed, undertreated, and undervalued in the healthcare system. Moreover, women are more likely to spend more years of their life in poor health. For example, as shared in Harvard Health, 70% of those affected by chronic pain conditions are women, whereas 80% of pain research is conducted on males.

  • Women are disproportionately impacted by healthcare and policy decisions. Under the new decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in the United States, millions of women have been put in danger of having their private information used against them, as healthcare apps are not covered by HIPPA. Many period-tracking apps collect personal information including missed periods, cycle dates, pregnancy attempts, and miscarriages. The data collected by period tracking apps may be used against them in criminal and civil proceedings in states where abortion is no longer legal.

  • Everyone deserves access to proper health care. Women deserve to have the resources and community to be well-informed self-advocates, who can take control of their own health. With PrivyTrack, we hope to provide that space for all who wish to have it.

Our Values

Discretion

We believe that no one should have access to your private information except for you! With our services your information will never get into the hands of anyone who may misuse it. Your health is our priority and we value that at the core of our company.

Autonomy

We want you to be in full control of your health, and our services will give you that. PrivyTrack offers a one of a kind service that gives you the knowledge and power to be confident about your health care.

Equality

For centuries health research was done by men, and for men. Due to this women have not been properly treated and suffer from chronic pain at a much higher rate than men. We believe everyone deserves the same opportunities for their health care and that drives our company.
